Professor Brendan Boler
Brendan specializes in management consulting, high-performance coaching, and talent assessment and selection. He is an Assistant Professor at the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce where he teaches courses in Strategy Consulting and Strategic Business Advising to both undergraduate and graduate students. He has extensive experience within the fields of management consulting and banking, having worked at Accenture, Goldman Sachs, and Morgan Stanley. Throughout his corporate career, Brendan was heavily involved in the recruiting process and has leveraged this experience to conduct research on high-performance coaching, as well as talent assessment and selection. His work has been presented at national conferences including MBA Career Services Council (CSC) Conference (2010, 2011, 2012) and the Association of Business Communication Conference (2010, 2011, 2012).
Prior to joining the McIntire School of Commerce, Brendan was a general faculty member at the Darden School of Business, where he served as an Associate Director of Career Advising and Education. In this role, he coached thousands of MBA students to develop case interviewing skills and enter the field of management consulting.
After college, Brendan served for four years as an officer in the U.S. Army. As an undergraduate at Georgetown University, he was a member of the Army ROTC program, captain of the varsity football team, and a member of the university’s first nationally ranked varsity lacrosse team.
